Overhead crane Single-beam bridge crane is a lifting equipment that is horizontally mounted above workshops, warehouses and material yards to lift materials. Because its two ends are located on tall concrete columns or metal brackets, it looks like a bridge. The bridge of the single-beam bridge crane runs longitudinally along the tracks laid on the elevated platforms on both sides, and can make full use of the space under the bridge to lift materials without being hindered by ground equipment. It is the most widely used and largest type of lifting machinery. Jinghe Crane adopts advanced robot welding technology to improve quality and increase efficiency.

How does an overhead crane operate?

Single-beam bridge overhead crane is a lifting equipment that is horizontally mounted above workshops, warehouses and material yards to lift materials. What Are The Two Basic Types Of Overhead Cranes?

Double-beam overhead crane

Double-beam bridge Overhead cranes have large spans, heavier lifting weights, brighter workplaces, and higher working levels. Compared with single-beam Overhead cranes, double-beam bridge cranes are more widely used.

Comparison of the differences between single-beam and double-beam bridge cranes

  • Single-beam bridge Overhead cranes are generally used in places with small spans and light lifting weights, and the working environment of single-beam bridge cranes is often relatively small. Double-beam bridge Overhead cranes have large spans, heavier lifting weights, brighter workplaces, and higher working levels. Compared with single-beam Overhead cranes, double-beam bridge cranes are more widely used.

  • Single-beam bridge Overhead cranes are lighter in weight, simpler in structure, and easier to install and disassemble. Double-beam bridge Overhead cranes have complex structures, large weights, and are relatively complex to install.

Single-beam bridge verhead cranes have lower costs and use less materials. The cost is mainly determined by their span. Single-beam bridge Overhead cranes have smaller spans, one lifting beam, smaller lifting weight, shorter spans, and use less production materials and accessories, so single-beam bridge Overhead cranes are cheaper and have lower costs. Double-beam bridge Overhead cranes have higher production costs, use more materials, and are time-consuming and labor-intensive. Double-beam bridge Overhead cranes have two lifting beams, larger lifting weight, larger spans, more materials and accessories, higher technical content, and more complicated production, so double-beam bridge Overhead cranes are more expensive and have higher production costs.

Selection of crane type

  • The span, height, component weight and lifting project volume of the structure.

  • Construction site conditions.

  • The existing lifting equipment conditions of the company and the region.

  • Construction period requirements.

  • Construction cost requirements. In general, crawler cranes are suitable for ordinary single-layer prefabricated structures with large lifting projects, because crawler cranes do not have high requirements.

  • For the road surface, are easy to change and travel, and can travel under load. Truck cranes are less destructive to the road surface, and can be driven to the lifting site quickly and conveniently.

  • They are suitable for lifting prefabricated structures located in urban areas or with small project volumes.

  • For hoisting projects in remote areas, or with long distances or poor road conditions, simple lifting machinery such as single-leg pull-out poles, herringbone pull-out poles, and mast cranes can often be used to start work early, meet progress requirements, and have low costs.

  • For multi-story prefabricated structures, due to the high installation height of the upper components, large-capacity crawler cranes or ordinary tower cranes (rail-mounted or fixed) are often used.

Welding process

  • The main steel structure (main beam, end beam) materials are all Q235-B, and the materials used have material reports and corresponding certificates of conformity.

  • The manufacture, welding and inspection of steel structures are carried out in accordance with national standards. The important load-bearing butt welds adopt double-sided groove welding technology, and the appearance inspection and non-destructive testing are carried out in accordance with regulations. All welders hold corresponding grade certificates.

  • All crane main beams adopt the whole plate non-butt welding process, eliminating the main beam steel plate butt welds, eliminating the hidden dangers of steel plate butt welding. (Steel plate butt welding is the most important welding and the part with the most quality risks).

  • All plates are automatically cut by CNC cutting machines, and the main beam arch is preset to avoid the problem of traditional fire-baked main beam arch deflection.

  • The steel surface is shot blasted to a surface roughness of Sa2.5 in GB8923 "Registration and Rust Removal Grade of Steel Surface Treatment before Painting", which improves the adhesion of the paint and prevents paint peeling, ensuring the long-term beauty of the single-beam crane.

  • The longitudinal waist weld of the main beam adopts the domestic advanced automatic special machine ambush welding, which has beautiful molding and ensures the welding quality.

  • The trolley crossbeam is made of rectangular tube as a whole, without splicing and welding seams, beautiful appearance, strong and durable.

  • All wheels are installed by boring to avoid the wheel treads not being on the same horizontal plane and improve the running accuracy of the wheels.
